SEBASTIAN BACH Records Song For ABC's Musical Comedy Series 'Galavant'
December 18, 2014According to TVLine, former SKID ROW singer Sebastian Bach has laid down vocals on a song for ABC's upcoming musical comedy "Galavant".
The series is part fairytale, part Broadway musical that follows a dashing hero, Galavant (Joshua Sasse),who loses the love of his life, Madalena (Mallory Jansen),to the evil King Richard (Timothy Omundson) and must take revenge to restore his "happily ever after."
Bach's track will be heard in Episode 2, which airs in the second half-hour of the series' premiere on January 4 at 8/7c. The song will play during a sequence in which Galavant trains to joust Sir Jean Hamm (played by guest star John Stamos).
From 2003 to 2007, Bach had a recurring role on the WB television show "Gilmore Girls" as Gil, the lead guitarist in Lane Kim's band HEP ALIEN. Bach also previously appeared on "Saturday Night Live", "MTV Cribs", "Strange Frequency", "Robot Chicken", and a long list of other television shows. In addition, he has done stage productions of "Jekyll And Hyde" (as Dr. Jekyll and Henry Hyde),"The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (as Riff Raff) and "Jesus Christ Superstar" (as Jesus of Nazareth).
In a 2012 interview with the Chicago Tribune, Bach was asked if he finds he gets recognized more as the lead singer of SKID ROW, or for something like the "Gilmore Girls". "I get noticed for different things I've done in different areas of town," he responded. "If I'm in a rock club, it'll be SKID ROW, if I'm in a mall it's the 'Gilmore Girls'. Teenagers will come up to me and they'll be like, 'Aren't you that guy?' And I'll be like, 'Uh, which guy are you talking about?'"
Regarding whether reciting a lot of dialogue really quickly in "Gilmore Girls" helped him as an actor, Bach said: "It's actually really hurt me. I went to audition for an episode of 'Law And Order', and they didn't understand why I was talking so fast, and I was like, 'No, you don't understand. I was on a show called the 'Gilmore Girls'. We had to say everything like that.'"
